A standard builder’s finish to this new-build apartment left its owner cold. When they got the keys, despite the wonderful views and architecture, the interior felt opposite to the homeowner’s aesthetic.

To counter this, we stepped in to add a real striking personality to the home. Starting with colour, the striking Yves Klein Blue blue hallway not only provides a base for the home’s palette but it also very physically anchors the home, acting as a spine leading up to the top floor. A keen entertainer, the client wanted a space for socialising that would be separate to the main living area. And so, visitors are now led immediately upstairs through a combination of visual cues – namely colour, vertical joinery, LED lighting and custom neon art pieces. Downstairs in the living area, the colour riot continues with steel room dividers inset with colourful glazing, custom joinery and upholstery. Art chosen and created for this home reflect the homeowner’s Pride and they wanted to display gay icons throughout.

"Emily challenged me to think beyond my comfort zone and listened to and incorporated my feedback at all times. I've ended up with my dream place - full of colour and energy, a place I want to live and work, but also home."
