Breaking the mold of the traditional rural home, this family self-build in Kildare draws on the homeowner's love of Morocco, expressed through a cacophony of colour, imperfect plaster finishes, and vibrant textiles. In the entrance hall, a bold layering of colour gives way to a curved bouclé sofa that frames a large window and the landscape beyond, which invites lingering. This sets the scene for the entire home. Throughout, an abundance of custom-designed pieces carry this playful spirit further, from a blue-tinted concrete worktop to a honey-hued microcement bathroom, while a kitchen hood made from corrugated iron echoes the roof of the house itself.
