A thoughtful narrative of the family’s Ugandan and Irish roots, the home's design is expressed through a carefully curated selection of materials and art. Structural clay blocks with Ugandan influence divide the living spaces, while the polished concrete floors are flecked with pebbles that mirror the estuary sand just outside the front door. This cultural blend continues through the textiles, where vibrant Kente fabrics used for upholstery, meet the plush warmth of Irish velvets to create a unique sense of place. The curated artwork follows this same dual narrative. One custom-commissioned piece depicts the couple’s three children using fabrics they wore as they grew up. On another wall, a painting by Ugandan artist Muramuzi sits above a collaborative chair by Shane O'Driscoll and Greenwood Chairs, which fuses traditional Irish craftsmanship with bold, abstract motifs. By placing these pieces together, the home physically anchors the family’s roots in both cultures.
